National Occupational Standards (NOS)
Explanation:
- National Occupational Standards (NOS) specify the standard of performance that a person must achieve when performing a task in the workplace, along with the knowledge and understanding they need to consistently meet a standard.
- Each NOS defines a key function in the job role. Each NOS should be a concise and readable document, usually no longer than five or six pages (some are only one or two). In its essential form, the NOS describes the tasks, performance standards, and knowledge/understanding.
- The NOS is determined by the employers (through their SSC). Qualification Pack (QP) is a set of NOS which is linked to the job role. A QP is available for each job role in each industry sector.
