☆ Printing press was a great invention of that time.
☆ It was invented by Johannes Gutenburg in 1455.
☆ As, many people welcomed because, they were waiting for the moment in which they can print the essays, thoughts etc easily rather than writing.
☆ As, the holy book Bible was printed first in the press.
While, all welcomed printed books but some also had fear about it because,
The main fear was the fear of church authority because, they were ruling the ancient Europe by supporting the church as others were illiterate. If the printed books come then the truth may be known.
Some more fears were:
a. Many were in anxities of the effects that the easier access to the printed word and the wider circulation of books, could have on people’s minds.
b. It was feared that if there was no control over what was printed and read then rebellious and irreligious thoughts might spread.
c. If that happened the authority of valuable literature would be destroyed.
So, not every one welcomed the printed books but some also had fear about it..
