Mars is the Roman God of War. And here is the personification of War.

What he cannot do is destroying this poem that is a testimony of his friend's.

Hey friend..

Here's your answer....

_______________________________________________

This amazing sonnet was written by "WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE".

It tells us about the greatness of poetry and proses which
remains in the heart of people even when the wars
and time destroy the earth.

William has dedicated this sonnet to his friend who shall be
remembered by the world even after her/his death..

Mars here refers to the wars and battles because Mars is known
as the GOD OF WAR.

Even mars himself can not destroy the record of his friend cause
it'l remain same in the minds of people ...She'll be alive forever.
