NOTE MAKING (1)
Read the following passage carefully:
Punctuality means the habit of doing things at the right time. It is the mark of
civilisation and culture. It is referred to as the soul of business. ‘Punctuality’ said
Louis XIV is the politeness of kings. It is the mark of a gentleman and the
necessity of men in business. Washington once took his secretary to task for being
late. The complacent secretary answered very glibly and laid the blame upon his
watch. Washington retorted “Then Sir, you must get a new watch or I must get a
new secretary.’
It is crucial to be punctual at all times. The virtue of punctuality makes people
more efficient and productive in life. Being punctual proves the proverb ‘A stitch
in time saves nine’. For example tiny problems can be solved easily if we attend to
them immediately. But if we ignore them, these problems become gigantic and we
lose a lot of precious time and energy in fixing them. Much of our success is
attributed to our being punctual in our undertakings and appointments. A
disciplined person will try his best to be punctual.(200 words)
