  • Aldehyde and Ketkne compound which contain alpha-Hydrogen ungergoes aldol codensation to give alpha-beta unsaturated aldehyde or ketone.
  • Benzaldehyde does not ungergoes aldol condensation because of absent of alpha-Hydrogen.
  • This reaction takes place in presence of weak base.
