Cytokinesis : It is the process by which division of cytoplasm takes place. It follows karyokinesis.

In animals it follows the following steps:

◽ Occurs by constriction and furrow formation.

◽ It is centripetal type in animals.

In plants it follows following steps:

◽ Occurs by cell plate formation, furrow formation can't be followed due to the rigid nature of cell wall.

◽ It is centrifugal type.
