Answer:

The greenhouse effect is a natural process that warms the Earth's surface. When the Sun's energy reaches the Earth's atmosphere, some of it is reflected back to space and the rest is absorbed and re-radiated by greenhouse gases. ... The absorbed energy warms the atmosphere and the surface of the Earth.

GreenHouse effect :

Greenhouse effect directly leads to Global warming . It is process by which the radiations enters the earth's atmosphere , gets trapped and are not allowed to escape and hence increase the temperature of the planet .

Greenhouse effect is caused by certain gases , called greenhouse gases , like methane \tt (CH_4) , Carbon dioxide \tt (CO_2) , Ozone \tt (O_3) , etc .

These gases absorb the radiation from sun and re - emit them , increasing the temperature of the earth . When this temperature increases on global level , it is called global warming .

Just like the sunlight gets trapped inside a greenhouse , the radiations get trapped in the atmosphere of the earth . Therefore , this effect is called greenhouse effect.
