hello.

PRODUCTION OF SULPHUR

Today, almost all elemental sulfur is produced as a byproduct of removing sulfur-containing contaminants from natural gas and petroleum.
This is important because there cannot be sulfur oxidation without oxygen in the atmosphere.About 90% of sulfur produced or extracted is used to make sulfur dioxide, which is then converted to sulfuric acid.

It is produced naturally by the decay of organic substances containing sulfur and is often present in vapours from volcanoes and mineral waters. Large amounts of hydrogen sulfide are obtained in the removal of sulfur from petroleum.
