Rani Lakshmibai was one of the leader of Indian rebellion of 1857 and become for Indian nationalists a symbol of resistance to the rule of British East India company in India.
she was the daughter of Moropant and Bhagirathi. she was called Manu in her childhood . she was married to Gangadhar Rao , king of Jhansi. she had no child of her own. she adopted Damodar Rao as her husbands son. this was not acceptable to the britishers and thus the britishers attached her Kingdom. Rani Lakshmibai fought bravely with Britishers but at last she died.
