It secretes an alkaline seminal fluid

seminal vesicles are a pair of musculoglandular sacs of 5cm. length, which occurs in between urinary bladder and rectum. There is secretion of seminal fluid from seminal vesicles. It is important role play in secretion.

  • Seminal fluid forms 60-70% of semen. It is mucoid having fructose, citrate, prostaglandins fibrinogen and proteins. Prostaglandins cause reverse peristalsis of female genital tract. Fructose provides nourishment to sperms.

  • Seminal vesicles are two small gland which is stock and produce the fluid that form the semen.
