The spinal cord is a bundle of nerves that extend from the base of brain.

It is the main connector from the brain to the rest of the body.

it is protected by backbone. An injury to spinal cord can cause paralysis.

once they are damaged the injury can be permanent .

It contains nerves that travel from your brain. Those nerves carry information by way of electrical signals or impulses.

There are 31 pairs of spinal nerves that come off of the spinal cord and pass through holes in the vertebral column.
