Heat is flow of energy from body at higher temperature to body at lower temperature. Thus, on heating the hot object the heat energy will flow from the hot object to our hand. Thus, the heat is evolved by the object and our hand absorbs the heat energy. Due to this flow of energy, we sense the hotness of an object with our hand.

The amount of heat that evolves during any reaction equals to the free entropy change when the total entropy of the system is zero — no such change in the system randomness. ∆G = ∆H-T∆S. Here, ∆G signifies the free change of energy, ∆His the change occurring in the enthalpy, and ∆S is the change in entropy.
