Let to be cost of a pen and a pencil x and y respectively

By the Condition:

8x + 8y = 176

2x + 2y = 48

Step : Solve Equation

8x + 8y = 176 ---(1)

☞ (x+y) = 22 -----(2)

2x + 2y = 48 ------(3)

☞ x+y=24---------(4)

Step : Solve Equation 2 & 4

After Comparison , We have :

Value of x = 0

Therefore, Required cost of one pen is 0.
