A group of cells having a common origin and usually performing a common function is tissue. A plant is comprised of different kinds of tissues. Tissues are classified into two main groups, meristematic and permanent tissues.

2. These tissues are made up of dead cells because dead cells can also provide mechanical strength to the plants and do not require much maintenance.
3. Only certain parts of the plant can grow.The tissues present in such regions dividing themselves and form new tissues.
4. The structure of plant tissues is not very specialised as compared to animals.
