ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE

Atmospheric pressure is pressure exerted by theair column on the earth surface. The higher the altitude, the thinner the air is, and the lower theatmospheric pressure is. This is because high places do not have as much air above them, pushing down.So as the altitude increasesatmospheric pressure also increase.

MEASURING PRESSURE

The three methods for measuring pressure are absolute, gauge, and differential. Absolute pressure is referenced to the pressure in a vacuum, whereas gauge and differentialpressures are referenced to another pressure such as the ambient atmospheric pressure or pressure in an adjacent vessel.
