Heya,
CORROSION-
The phenomenon due to which metals are slowly eaten away by the reaction of air, water and chemicals present in the atmosphere is called corrosion.
Some examples of corrosion:
1.Rustington for iron
2.Formating of a green layer over copper
3.Tarnishing of silver
Conditions necessary for corrosion :
1.Presence of air
2.Presence of water
Effects of corrosion:
Corrosion causes damage to car bodies, bridges, iron railings and ships and all objects made of metals, specially those made up of iron.
Methods to prevent corrosion :
1.Placing a barrier around the metal
2.Using a more reactive metal
3.Using alloys,etc.
RANCIDITY-
It is the process of slow oxidation of oils and fats (which are volatile in nature) present in the food materials resulting in the production of foul odour and taste in them.
Methods to prevent rancidity :
1.Packing of food materials in air tight containers
2.Refrigeration of cooked food
3.Packing of food items like potato wafers in packets containing nitrogen gas instead of air
4.By adding antioxidants
5.Avoid keeping food materials in direct sunlight.
Hope this helps. . . . . . if it really helped, then please mark it as the BRAINLIEST and please say a thanks.
Thanks.

Hello Dost ☺
Answer :
Corrosion – The process of slow conversion of metals into their undesirable compounds due to their reaction with oxygen, water, acids, gases etc. present in the atmosphere is called corrosion.
Rusting – Iron when reacts with oxygen and moisture forms red substance called rust.
Rancidity – The taste and odour of food materials containing fat and oil changes when they are left exposed to air for long time. This is called rancidity.
It is caused due to oxidation of fat and oil present in food material.
It can be prevented by using various methods such as by adding antioxidants to the food materials, Storing food in air tight container and by flushing out air with nitrogen.
Thanks ☺
