Hi mate.

Thanks for asking this question.

Here is your answer,

feeding \: mechanism \: =

Hydra feeds on the varieties of small aquatic animals such as Daphnia and Cyclops, which can be trapped by Hydra with the help of its stinging tentacles. ( in hydra their are generally 6-10 tentacles are found ) . Scattered over these tentacles large stinging cells are known as Cnidoblast. Smaller founds on the main body.

Each Cnidoblast contains capsule known as the nematocyst which can provide a small trigger like projection called as Cnidocil.
Each capsule contains small hollow threads.
These threads are food catching apparatus.

mode \: of \: digestion =

Digestion in Hydra therefore can be divided into two phases, the preliminary digestion outside the cells of the endodermis (extracellular), and the secondary phase inside the cells (intracellular). The main digestion is extracellular. The cells of the gut merely absorb the digested remains. In all cnidarians (corals, hydroids, jellyfish, sea anemones, etc) digestion is partly extracellular and partly intracellular.

Thank you.
