Explanation:

system is based on stimulus-response.

- stimulus: any change in an organism's environment.

- response: the action or reaction of an organism as a result of a change in its environment.

Nervous system: specialized cells, tissues and organs that allow organisms to detect changes in the environment and respond to those changes.

- the nervous system delivers electrochemical messages called impulses.

- impulses are primarily electrical in nature.

- impulses can only move in one direction along a neuron: from cell body to axon.

- the nature of all impulses is the same. What makes one impulse different from another impulse is the number of neurons being stimulated, and the part of the brain receiving the impulse.

Neuron: a nerve cell.

Nerve: a bundle of neurons originating from the same location.
