more about Ribosomes :-

Ribosomes are the granual structures first observed under the electron microscope as dense particles by George Palade in 1953 .

Ribosomes can be found floating within the cytoplasm or attached to the endoplasmic reticulum.

they are composed of RNA and proteins and are not surrounded by any membrane.

the eukaryotic ribosomes are 80 S while the prokaryotic ribosomes are 70 S .

each ribosome has two subunits ,

  • larger ( 80 S having 60 S and 40 S ) .
  • smaller ( 70 S having 50 S and 30 S ) .

here , 'S' ( Sandberg's unit ) stands for the sedimentation constant .

Question:

Notes on Ribosomes ??

AnsweR:

Ribosomes are complex cell organelles made of RNA and protein that translates genetic code into chains of amino acids.

The ribosome is a complex molecular machine found inside the living cells.✔️✔️✔️

Ribosomes are special organelles as they are found in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.

Ribosomes Structure :-

A ribosome is a complex of RNA and protein and is, therefore, known as a ribonucleoprotein.
