This is a question I have seen before but never really answered. By stationary I don`t mean simply sitting very still on a chair. I mean completely stationary within the universe. Would it be physcially possible to combat all the forces acting to move me through the universe and simply stay where I am? I assume that in theory its possible but how would it be achieved? Is it as simple as floating out into space or, as I believe, would the task involve counteracting phenomenally large forces i.e. the expanding universe and passing stars and planets. Of course, we will assume that somehow, if I managed to become stationary, I will avoid being struck by every piece of space debris as it travels by
