Mancherial: Students of government and private schools celebrated Bathukamma a day earlier on a grand note in several parts of Mancherial on Friday.
Students of Padmacharan’s Krishnaveni Talent High School celebrated the floral festival by dancing to folk songs and worshipping the goddess. They brought idols of Bathukamma, made of various colourful flowers, and sported the finest of dresses. Chairman of the institution, Kasturi Padmacharan, vice-principal Haima and teachers were present.
Girl students of Zilla Parishad Secondary School for Girls had their own celebrations. They too danced to songs hailing Bathukamma. The students came up with vibrant idols of the goddess. Headmistress Ajmeera Sharada and teachers were among many who attended the event.
RBHV’s English Medium School, Trinity High School, Seven Hill School, Pallavi Model Schol, Brilliant Grammar High School, Sri Ushodaya, Carmel Convent High School, Akshra Primary School and other institutions witnessed similar colorful celebrations.
