Assam’s Hailakandi district administration will serve a notice on a missionary school for seeking a declaration from parents or guardians that the school would not be responsible for any side effects resulting from measles-rubella vaccine.

Deputy Commissioner Adil Khan said this amounted to creating panic about MR vaccination.

Directing Inspector of Schools Rajiv Kumar Jha to serve the notice on the school authorities, the Deputy Commissioner said framing of own set of rules in contravention to the government and WHO guidelines will unnecessarily scare away the parents from vaccinating their children thus putting their lives in peril.
