Answer :It was the most embarrassing moment for me. This was because of my namesake.
Both Shifali and I were good singers. It was bittersweet that our names were the same. We were often mistaken for the other. But I recently had to face a very embarrassing moment today as a result of this.
Both of us generally go to competitions and come back with prizes. Last week we had an inter-school competition in which she got the first prize. Unfortunately, I didn't win any prizes.
This being a very prestigious competition, the Principal wanted to congratulate her in the assembly. She kept calling out her name to come on stage.
Unfortunately, she was absent that day. Those who knew us well kept quiet, the rest kept asking me to go to the stage. I felt quite embarrassed and had to tell them that it was a case of mistaken identity.
