A) Both the mirror and the lake reflect and show true images. Both have depth. They bury things deep inside them. Mirror hides the past images somewhere inside it. Mirror and lake are similar in the behavior of the people. They bend over the lake to probe deep inside to search for things (fish) inside. In mirror one searches for good spots and ugly spots on one's body.

B) Simile.

C) "my reaches" means the depths inside mirror. Looking at all spots and trying to probe inside it more and more carefully (in minute detail) to find some thing.
