• Difficulty in the commute: People face severe difficulty to travel to work or educational institutes due to excess water accumulated on roads and streets.

• Accumulation of water leads to loss of life and property: Since urban areas are densely populated, this leads to the accumulation of water faster than that in rural areas. This accumulation of water often leads to the loss of property and life in the worst cases.

• Outburst of diseases: One of the most commonly observed after-effects of the flood is outbursts of diseases like typhoid, cholera etc.

• Damage to infrastructure: Urban areas have a lot of important infrastructures made for different economic activities. Flood damages that infrastructure severely.

• Interruption is power supply and network: Everybody starting from household to businesses get affected due to the interupted power supply and network connection due to flooding.
