Try to Concentrate on the text while you are reading books. Your concentration matters most while reading, especially when it comes to Biology. This is due to the fact that you never know and are aware of that from which word or sentence or line, an objective question would be framed or asked.

Try to Note down important points or words while you are reading. Make sure that you are having a notebook and a pencil/pen beside you. Note down the things you things learn here.

Since, its Biology, you will come across a large number of Topics having Sub-topics and even Sub-topics divided further into different sub units and so on. At this stage, it becomes quite difficult for one to remember those all things. To overcome this, take help of tree-diagrams. Divide them. it will surely help you. Apply the rule of Britishers, as “Divide And Rule.”

Try to figure out the Similarities and Differences while studying two major groups. Remember the similarities and differences among them. I assume, this is the least you can do.

For example, if you are studying Kingdom Monera and Kingdom Protista, try to figure out the required thing among them. Also, find the reason behind their differentiation.

If you are studying few major categories with multiple characteristics and without sub-categories, then take the help by drawing a Table chart with rows and columns.

In case of proportions, go for a Pie-diagram.

If, these things don’t work, then try to assume and relate those things with your daily life instances or you come across.

The other trick is to remember the things in a short form in the form of a phrase or sentence or a place you know,etc.,.

For instance, consider you desire to remember the correct order of Taxonomic categories from kingdom to Species, then here is the word, ( KD Css OF GS ).

where,

K- Kingdom

D- Division (Phylum- in case of Animals and Division- in case of Plants).

Css- Class

O- Order

F- Family

G- Genus

S- Species.

There are other tricks too I have in case of Chemistry and other subjects as well.Fine, you can apply this trick at other instances too or at earlier mentioned tips.
