Now that you have had a chance to read excerpts from Anne Frank’s diary and the play version of it, which do you prefer? Why?

Answer:

I liked reading the narrative more, because I think it gives a clearer picture of what Anne was really thinking while she was in hiding. It was fun to see what hiding was like from Anne's perspective rather than from a director and actors on a stage.

I would prefer the text version of the book rather than the play.

Explanation:

  • I prefer the text version of the diary rather than the play for it has so many interesting things for me.
  • First, the play shows the actions based on the directions of the directors and actors whereas the book gives more detail about the life of the young girl.
  • The play version is an acted version of the events of Annie Frank, whereas the text version allows us to get in-depth details of the events.
  • The play is like a 'revised' version of the diary, with a limited time frame whereas reading the texts allows us to read and understand in our own capacity and know even the tiniest details in our own way.
