The relationship between Iago and Roderigo is that of a puppet being controlled by a master, where Iago is the master and Roderigo is the puppet.


Roderigo has considerable wealth and Iago is only interested in that wealth. Iago therefore continues to sell to Rderigo, fake promises that he will be able to win over Desdemona’s Love.


However, Iago only wishes to manipulate Roderigo for his own benefit and kills when he is not needed anymore.
