Now you shall build as the birds do,and shall get yours scanty food by boring, and boring, and boring, all the day in the hard, day wood."

Answer:

This stanza is taken from the poem "The Legend of the Northland".

The speaker said these lines because the lady didn't give Saint Peter food as she was really greedy she always thought that the piece which she is giving is big. The Saint was exhausted and starving. At last the saint got angry and cursed the lady that she will become a woodpecker and she now has to find her food, build her home just like other birds do by boring.
