GivEn:-

  • At ntp 5.6 litre of a gas weight 8 gram.

To find:-

  • Vapour density of air.

SoluTion:-

As we know that,

\dag\;{\underline{\boxed{\bf{\pink{Mole = \dfrac{GivEn\;Volume}{22.4}}}}}}

:\implies\sf \cancel{ \dfrac{5.6}{22.6}}

:\implies\sf \dfrac{1}{4}

We also know that,

\dag\;{\underline{\boxed{\bf{\purple{Mole = \dfrac{GivEn\;Mass}{Molecular\;Mass}}}}}}

:\implies\sf \dfrac{1}{4} = \dfrac{8}{Molecular\;Mass}

:\implies\sf \dfrac{1}{4 \times 8} = \dfrac{1}{Molecular\;Mass}

:\implies\bf Molecular\;Mass = 32g

By the formula,

\dag\;{\underline{\boxed{\bf{\blue{Molecular\;Mass = 2 \times Vapour\; Density}}}}}

:\implies\sf 32 = 2 \times Vapour\; Density

:\implies\sf \cancel{ \dfrac{32}{2}} = Vapour\;Density

:\implies\bf Vapour\; Density = 16

\dag Hence, Vapour density of air is 16.

Answer:

22.4 liter will weigh 32 grams. 22.4 liter weighs molecular mass. So molecular mass is 32 grams. As you know molecular mass = 2×vapour density,so vapour density of the gas is 16 grams.Nov 3, 2017
