Nuclear energy is not being used on a much larger scale due to the scarcity of enough resources and plans and also less awareness among people.
Most of the people aren't aware of the fact of usage of nuclear energy as an alternative to fossil fuels and this is the main problem.
The second problem is that there aren't enough steps being taken by the government or other authorities and this keeps the people unaware of such facts.
