The nucleus is the spherical structure, generally present at the centre of the cell. Nucleus is separated by cytoplasm by a membrane called nuclear membrane. This membrane is porus and allows the movement of material between the cytoplasm and inside the nucleus. The smaller spherical body in the nucleus is nucleolus. Nucleus contains thread like structure called chromosomes. They carry genes and help in inheritance or transform from parents to offspring. Nucleus acts as control center of the activities of cell.
