Answer:

Noise pollution has become a crisis proportions. Loudspeakers have further aggravated the problem. Owing to unrestricted use of loudspeakers at functions, gatherings, parties, etc. there is hardly any peace left in cities or towns.

People in the name of parties, receptions, ladies sangeet, and religious functions are blatantly violating the noise pollution norms and laws! There is no peace even during night during the festival season. The worst affected people are the very young babies, old people, patients, and the students! Playing loud music late into the night is illegal and liable to be prosecuted.

People need to be made aware about the ill-effects of incessant loud noise. It leads to many health complications such as hypertension, stress, hearing loss, insomnia, etc. that can seriously affect other aspects of the health. Hence, people must be educated and encouraged to eschew from making loud noise. Where the people don’t abide by rules and regulations, strict action must be taken against the culprits and offenders...

To

Commissioner of Police,

Mumbai.

Subject: The nuisance of using PA System.

Sir,

The government has issued orders banning the use of loudspeakers (PA System) in public without obtaining prior permission. However many individuals and groups are still ignoring rules and misusing PA Systems.

Many restaurants, cafes and night clubs are using loudspeakers at full volume. This misuse of loudspeakers, especially at night, causes much disturbance to the students who are studying for their exams. It is very difficult for them to concentrate on their lessons when loudspeakers are being used at every corner.

Further, we also need to think about the sick people at home or admitted in hospitals who need rest and sleep.

The law enforcement agencies must prevent the unauthorised use of loudspeakers and causing public disturbance. It is one of the causes of noise pollution too. I therefore earnestly request the authorities to take appropriate action immediately and book those misusing loudspeakers.

Yours sincerely,

SANJEEV
