Answer:

let 1+√3 be rational. so we can write it in the form of a/b

a/b =1+√3(where a and b are some integers)

a/b-1=√3

in which a/b -1 are some integers.. so the are rational hence √3 is also rational. but it is given that it is irrational.. this is arisen because of our wrong assumption.

so 1+√3 is irrational
