Ratio of number 1 : number 2 = 7 : 5 (given)

Define x:

Let x be the constant ratio:

Ratio of number 1 : number 2 = 7x : 5x

Solve x:

Given that the 2nd number is 150

5x = 150

x = 150 ÷ 5 = 30

Find the number:

7x + 5x = 12x

Since x = 30 (found earlier)

12x = 12(30) = 360

Answer: The number is 360
