SOLUTIONS :

2) let x and y be two divided parts of 4500, then ;

x+y = 4500

x = 4500-y

(5/100)x = (10/100)y

x/20 = y/10

10x = 20y

x = 2y

comparing both equation we get ;

2y = 4500-y

3y = 4500

y = 1500

x = 2×1500

= 3000

hence the 4500 is been divided into two parts of 1500 & 3000.

5) Let the Age of Rakhi be x yrs.

=> Age of Rakhi's Mother = 4x

After 5 years,

Age of Rakhi = (x + 5) yrs

and Age of Rakhi's Mother = (4x + 5) yrs

Now, A.T.Q.

(4x + 5) = 3( x + 5)

=> 4x + 5 = 3x + 15

=> 4x - 3x = 15 - 5

=> x = 10..

Therefore,

Age of Rakhi = x = 10 yrs.

Age of Rakhi's Mother = 4x = 4 × 10 = 40 yrs.
