We have to find the no of isomers of Pt(NH₃)₂Cl₂.

solution : Pt(NH₃)₂Cl₂ exists in square planner geometrical shape. there are two ammonia and two chlorine attaching with platinum. so the general form of this compound is MA₂B₂. we know, this type of structure can be shaped into two forms cis and trans. see figure to understand.

Therefore no of isomers of Pt(NH₃)₂Cl₂ is two i.e., cis Pt(NH₃)₂Cl₂ and trans Pt(NH₃)₂Cl₂.
