Answer: to form 200 seeds 250 meiotic divisions are required

               to form 400 seeds 500 meiotic divisions are required

Explanation-

  • out of 250 divisions 200 division will produce 200 female gametes and wrest 50 divisions will produce 200 male gametes
  • in the same way out of 400 divisions 300 division will produce 300 female gametes and wrest 100 divisions will produce 400 male gametes

FORMULA  :

to form n number of seeds n × 1.25 meiotic divisions are required

if your answer come in fraction then round it off

for example if you want to produce 25 seeds then number of divisions required will be 25 × 1.25 = 31.25 ≈ 32 divisions
