Given - Weight of salt calcium carbonate - 0.5 gram

Find - Number of Milli equivalents of given salt

Solution - Milli equivalents is calculated by the formula - (mass of salt*Valence)/ molecular weight.

Mass of salt is 0.5 gram.

Since calcium carbonate salt will form two ions, hence the valency is 2.

Molecular weight of calcium carbonate is 100 g/mol

Keeping the values in equation-

Milli equivalents - (0.5*2)/100

Milli equivalents - 0.01 mEq.

Hence, 0.01 milli equivalents are present in 0.5 g of CaCO3.
