three of 5 P-Cl bomds lie in one plane at an angle of 120⁰ to one other called as Equatorial bonds.
Other 2 P-Cl bonds are at right angle to the plane of equitorial bonds that is one above and one below the plane. These are called as axial bonds.
as one axial bond is at right angle to 3 equitorial bonds.
then 3 axial bonds will at right angle to 6 equitorial bonds
∴no. of right angle=6
