Mg

Number of electrons= 12

Electronic configuration=(2,8,2)

Valence electron = 2

In case of Mg²⁺

Number of electrons=10

Electronic configuration=(2,8)

As the octate is fulfilled so there is no free or unpaired in case of Mg²⁺
