Hello there !

We know that , the formula for the no. of waves is given by :

n = µ t / λ

where :

µ = refractive index

t = thickness

λ = wavelength

as ng = nw

µg x 4 / λ = µw x 5 / λ

µgx 4 = 4/3 x 5

µg = 4x5 / 4 x 3

µg= 5/3

Hence , the refractive index of glass is 5/3
