The numbers which have three or more factors are called composite numbers.

What are Composite Numbers?

  • Composite numbers are the numbers that have three or more factors. Each composite number is its own factor and they are divisible by their factors.
  • They are of two types- even composite numbers and odd composite numbers. Examples of even composite numbers are 9, 15, 21, 25, 27, etc and examples of odd composite numbers are 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, etc.
  • A number is determined to be a composite number if it is a positive integer and has more than two factors.

Therefore, the composite numbers are the numbers having three or more factors. Examples: 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, .....
