Answer:

3/5

Step-by-step explanation:

if numerator and denominator of a fraction is in a ratio, the ratio in simplest form is equal to the fraction in simplest form

i.e. if numerator and denominator are in ratio 3:5

=> the fraction is 3/5

...

still let's do it in the formal way

given, numerator and denominator of a fraction are in the ratio of 3:5

so let numerator be 3x and denominator be 5x

also given, if 4 is subtracted from the numerator, it reduces to 2/5

=> (3x-5)/5x = 2/5

=> 15x-25 = 10x

=> 5x = 25

=> x = 5

=> 3x/5x = 15/25 = 3/5

Answer:L

Let the numerator be    3x

Then, the denominator   is 5x

the fraction is (3x)/(5x)

According to question,

if 4 is subtracted from numerator, the new numerator is  (3x) - 4

As per question,

(3x - 4)/ 5x =2/5

5(3x - 4)=2 x 5x

15x-20 = 10x

15x-10x = 20

5x =20

x =20/5

x=4

now the fraction is  (3x)/(5x)

                              =  (3x4)/ (5 x4)

                              =  12/20  or

                              =   3/5

I hope it helped you.
