Let the the denominator be x

numerator=(x-3)

Given, 5 is added to both numerator and denominator

So, New denominator = (x+5)

New numerator =(x-3)+5

=> (x+2)

Then it's becomes to 3/4

A.T.Q (x+2)/(x+5)= 3/4

4 (x+2)=3 (x+5) (by cross multiplication)

=> 4x+8=3x+15

=> 4x-3x= 15-8

=> x= 7

Therefore, denominator=7

Numerator= (x-3)= 7-3=4

Hence, rational number= 4/7
