The distance travelled by the man from his home to office = 30 km.

In the evening, the man travels back from the office to the home, hence, the Distance travelled = 30 km.

So, the total distance travelled = 30 + 30 = 60 km.

So, the total distance travelled = 30 + 30 = 60 km.And, the displacement of the body = 0 km.

Some Important Information-

Distance is the total length of the path travelled by the body.

Displacement is the shortest distance between the initial position and the final position of the body.

Distance is scalar quantity whereas displacement is a vector quantity.

If the final position and the initial position of the body is same, the distance will be doubled, whereas the displacement gets 0.
