The formula was derived from 1/2 * m * v^2 = m * g * h and after canceling m we get this

formula to be used v^2 = 2 * g * h and substituting values v^2 = 2 * 9.8 m/s^2 * 100 m Continuing v^2 = 19.6 m/s * 100 m; v^2 = 1960 (m/s)^2. We then extract the square root of this value to get ihe speed of the stone.

The speed of the stone v = 44.27 m/s.
