Answer:

It has given that a computer of mass , m = 2kg and has an area , A 200 cm². we have to find the pressure does the computer put into a table. therefore pressure does the computer put into the table is 980 N/m² or 980 Pascal.

Question

A computer weights 2 kg and has an area of 200cm². Find the pressure applied by the computer.

Given-

  • Mass of the computer - 2kg
  • Total area covered by the computer - 200cm² = 0.02m²

Formula to be used-

 {\huge\boxed { \tt P = \frac{F}{A} } }

Where,

  • P = pressure
  • F = force
  • A = area

_...

Here , we don't have force. So at first we'll calculate total force applied.

Formula-

 {\boxed { \tt F = mass \times acceleration } }

Force = 2kg × 10m/s²

[ 10m/s² is acceleration due to gravity ]

Force = 20N

Now, We have-

  • Force = 20 N
  • Area = 0.02m²

By the formula-

 {\boxed { \tt P = \frac{F}{A} } }

Substituting values-

 \tt {\implies P = \frac{20N}{0.02{m}^{2}}}

 \tt {\implies P = \frac{\cancel {20} \times 100}{\cancel {2}}}

 \tt { \implies P = 10 \times 100 }

 \tt { \implies P = 1000 Pa}

Hence, the pressure applied by the computer is 1000 Pascal.
