(3) Fire tongs has its arms =20 cm Effort arm = 15 cm Load arm =20 cm (i) Mechanical advantage M.A = Effort arm/Load arm = 15/20 = 0.75 (ii) Effort = Load/M.A = 1.5/0.75 = 2.0 kgf.
