The moment of force needed to open the nut = 150 N × 0.4 m = 60 N m...(i)

In the second case,

F = 50 N

If he uses the handle of length L metre, then

Moment of force = 50 N × L m = 50 L N m...(ii)

From eqns. (i) and (ii),

50L = 60

L = 60 ÷ 50

L = 1.2 m
